WoW Druid Equipment

A druid's equipment choice naturally depends on his talent allocation. A Druid is only able to wear cloth and leather gear. While cloth gear is of little interest to any Feral Combat Druid, as these items lack any agility and physical combat stats, a Balance or Restoration Druid might be tempted to opt for cloth caster gear. Feral Combat Druids prefer so called Rogue leather, leather armors with a bonus to agility, attackpower and other melee stats. A Bear Druid will prefer high stamina and agility while a Cat Druid is interested in attackpower and hit rating as well.

The common haste- and armor penetration ratings are not as effective for a Druid as they are for a Rogue, as a large amount of a Cat Druid's damage is done with bleed effects which are not affected by these stats. Druid weapons have always been a special breed, making them first highly sought after and useless drops once every Druid had one. This has changed and now a Druid is able to make use of any weapon he is able to wield. While the Druid doesn't really strike with a weapon while he is in Cat or Bear Form the weapon gives a bonus to the Druid's attackpower depending on the level of the weapon.

Balance and Restoration Druids are the prime candidates for any spelldamage leather drops, but often fall back on cloth items if the leather items are lacking. A Moonkin has similar stat preferences as a Mage or Warlock while a Restoration Druid opts for Priest stats. Both specs try to get a good amount of spellpower. A Moonkin will try to get haste and hit rating while a Tree Druid wants some intellect and spirit for better mana regeneration.
