WoW Druid Battlerezz
A topic always causing some heated discussions is the so called battle rezz. This spell allows the Druid to revive any fallen ally in the heat of the battle, which often turns the tide of a fight. Such a resurrection spell is usually only usable out of combat, and even then they have a 10 second cast time. The battle rezz is castable in combat and is rather fast with a 2 second casting time. To compensate for this it has a 20 minute cooldown, making it only usable once in most boss fights, and sometimes only available every second fight.
The controversy behind this spell is the fact that the Druid is the only class with access to this spell. This was balanced by the fact that Druids were unable to cast a normal resurrection spell, but they gained such a spell with Wrath of the Lich King: Revive closes this gap and is similar to the resurrection spell of other classes. This was part of the great rebalancing that aimed at removing any unique buffs from most classes.
The fear that Druids will be the healer of choice due to the uniqueness of the battle rezz was a given, but in view of the first few weeks of the addon it was completely unneeded. A balanced raid composition is more important than a few more battle rezzes, and Druids aren't any more common than any other class in most raids. We will see if Blizzard decides to give this powerful ability to another class.
